What I loved this July.
From family visits, friend get-togethers, hosting, while also trying to be in this very moment of summertime… July of ’26 has been one where I found myself not knowing quite what to expect but always feeling a bit of excitement about the possibilities.
Perhaps that’s always how July feels.
You can go in with a schedule of what and when, but the month calls for us to leave room for the magic that happens solely from having nothing on the agenda, too.
Of the stories told over late nights with friends, of the laughs sitting around the kitchen table with family, and of the peace of getting a late unintentional sleep-in.
Thanks to you, July, for reminding us to leave extra room for the serendipity.
Here is this month’s joy & tell.
1. Boundaries, but Make it More Fun?
On a recent road trip with a friend, we listened to this incredible episode about boundaries by Shrink Chicks. I adore them and their podcast so much.
2. Farmers Markets Are For Lovers
Farmers markets are one of my truest loves of summertime. Getting to wake up, grab a favorite reusable bag, and head to a nearby farmers market is one of the best ways to start off the weekend, in my book.
Lucky for all of us, we still have a few months of some really great produce ahead!
3. A New Take on a Throwback
I’ve been listening to this song by Cynthia Erivo on repeat lately. And I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to stop. Any suggestions on whether I need to watch the movie, Bad Times at the El Royale, now?
4. Oh, Dahlias
This was the first year I’ve ever planted dahlias on my own. After a hard-fought battle with a bunch of raccoons digging up the bulbs, we came to a truce which allowed me to grow three dahlia bulbs. The first one bloomed this month, and I’m already wanting to grow more next time…that is if the raccoons will let me.
5. Worthy Homes
One of my favorite algorithm finds from YouTube has been the Homeworthy channel. Each video takes you around the world to look at some of the most stunning homes. My current watch? This one in Provence.
