“Instead of aiming for perfection, what if you just aimed for good enough?”
My therapist looked at me across their office. It was filled with books teetering in every corner, trinkets from across the decades of a therapy practice, and pictures on any available shelf and wall space.
I glanced out the window at the gray day staring right back at me.
As a perfectionist, people-pleaser… this was really edgy for me to think about. And I truly didn’t know what would happen if I actually aimed for an imperfectly “good enough” in my life.
But here’s a secret: this was five years ago.
And present-day Claire can wholeheartedly say—I want to be imperfect.
Messy, vulnerable, authentic, genuine, good enough.
Because why be anything else?
